The supermarket will be hiring workers to be based at its regional distribution centre, in Faverdale Industrial Estate.
Aldi recruitment director Kelly Stokes has confirmed the company is looking forward to expanding its North East workforce.
She said: “We are really excited about creating even more jobs in Darlington. Aldi’s increased popularity and customer demand for quality products allows us to keep growing and create more employment opportunities across the region.
“Working at Aldi means more than just having a job – we really care about our colleagues, both personally and professionally.
“On top of our competitive pay and benefits package, Aldi continues to offer a great working environment and real opportunities to progress within the business.”
This latest wave of jobs come as Bishop Auckland’s Aldi supermarket re-opened its doors today (June 15) after months of refurbishment as the site expanded to include a former Iceland store.
The Iceland in Bishop Auckland closed for the final time on Monday, November 21, 2022.
Now, following months of work, the store offers increased space for customers and has allowed for more items to be on shelves.
It will be open Monday to Saturday 8am until 10pm and Sunday 10am until 4pm.
Shoppers could be seen flocking to the store that now boasts expanded aisles, new fridges, and a wide selection of produce.
Managers of the store were also dotted around the aisles monitoring customers who were piling items in their trolley at the long-awaited re-opening.
