The Awards celebrate and recognise STEM Ambassadors, organisations and individuals who inspire, engage, and enthuse young people within the North East.
Jamie Ollivere, CEO at RTC North, delivered the award to Cummins and said: “This company can always be relied upon to support the hub, often at short notice, always fielding a team of fantastic and inspirational employees who are passionate about young STEM engagement and the future of the young people in our region.
“They have been a valued sponsor and key partner at the STEMFest event in July, offering much more than just financial support but also fielded a team of over 15 volunteers across the four days to ensure the event was an overall success.
“They currently have 30 active registered STEM Ambassadors taking part last year in online mentoring, providing mentors, participating in Greenpower events, and registering as school governors. This company have recorded over 138 separate activities in the last 12 months, clocking up over 700 hours of STEM support”.
Cummins has hugely increased its presence across schools and within the community, through Every Employee Every Community activities and inviting schools to site. The core education team at Darlington has worked incredibly hard to ensure we offer many STEM activities to as many schools as possible. Cummins Darlington have logged over 2,700 hours for education so far this year.
