Fortuna Fatum by Candlelight: York Ghost Week

As part of York Ghost Week, Fairfax House invites you to join us for an unforgettable evening, where you can explore Fairfax House by the warm glow of candlelight and be in with the chance to win one of an exclusive, bespoke York Ghost Merchant Ghost.

It is Allhallowtide in the year 1764, and the Honourable Fairfaxes have returned to their Castlegate residence to commence the Winter Season. After last year’s annus horribilis, Ann and the Viscount are eager to turn fortune in their favour and usher in the season with renewed splendour.

To this end, they summon the good and great of York society to a magnificent soirée, rich in entertainment and diversion. Guests will be challenged with devilishly difficult puzzles and amusements designed to test wit and spirit. For the fortunate soul destined to triumph, a prize most rare and enviable awaits—a gift worthy of admiration.
