Badapple Theatre Company presents

Yorkshire Kernel

Written and performed by Danny Mellor

Directed by Kate Bramley

Newly commissioned by Badapple Theatre for their “No Hall Too Small” scheme

Meet James. James’ Grandad is at death’s door, but he has one last mission: Find a tree. Many trees in fact, scattered around the country in memory of his WW2 comrades. Sounds simple, right?

Between being haunted by his plain-speaking Grandad, his Mother rekindling her romance with an old flame,  and James’ pregnant partner Rosie who thinks he’s cheating on her, this barmy one-man show takes you on a journey of Yorkshire wit and grit and one man’s pursuit to leave a long-lasting legacy.

This is a poignant and hilarious new one-man show from the inimitable Danny Mellor, writer of the acclaimed Undermined (National Tour/ Red Ladder) and Suffer Fools Gladly (Badapple Theatre, 2021). Come and join us for the world premiere of this brand-new comedy!

Badapple Theatre are one of the UK’s most vibrant and prolific touring companies and their stories delight audiences of all ages, bringing high-quality theatre to communities large and small across the UK.

“Full marks to Badapple, North Yorkshire’s own “doorstep theatre” enterprise.” NORTHERN ECHO
