New two-storey Burger King restaurant opening in Sunderland TODAY

Excitement is building for fast food fans across the North East after popular chain Burger King announced that it would be opening its brand new two-storey restaurant on Wednesday (October 26).

For diehard fans of the brand, they can sample the new drive-thru and sit-down restaurant on Ryhope Road in Sunderland – which will welcome its first customers today.

The architecture of the building might be unique, which will see plush new seats and a brand-new, purpose-built kitchen, but Burger King will be giving away free food to some of the first lucky guests.

To celebrate the return of the two-storey restaurant, the fast-food place is giving away 1000 free Whoppers or Plant-based Whoppers to lucky locals.

But Burger King lovers will have to be quick if they want to get their hands on the free treat.

The deal is first-come-first-served, and available exclusively to Burger King app users on 26th October only at Ryhope Road, Sunderland, SR2 9ST.

To get in on a bite of the action, guests will need to head here to retrieve a code, and then simply show the code to staff at the counter to claim a free Whopper.

For those not quick enough to secure themselves one of the free burgers up for grabs – fear not.

Burger fans can enjoy countless great value offers via The Burger King app, including the new ‘Your Burger King’ loyalty programme, according to the company.

All customers that register will automatically be awarded 200 points – which is enough to claim a Cheeseburger, or Fries without needing to spend a penny.
