Jim Henson’s Labyrinth: In Concert will arrive at York Barbican on April 27, 2026, as part of a 13-date UK tour celebrating the film’s 40th anniversary.
The tour will begin in Oxford on April 13 and will visit cities including Liverpool, Glasgow, Birmingham, Manchester, Edinburgh, and more.
John Kinsner, CEO of Black Ink Presents, producer of the live concert experience, said: “I have always been a huge fan of the groundbreaking collaboration of Jim Henson, George Lucas, David Bowie, and Trevor Jones on this film, and bringing it to fans in a live concert screening experience is a dream come true.
“Getting to hear Bowie’s vocals with a live band while watching the film is sure to give every Labyrinth fan goosebumps.”
The immersive show will feature a screening of the 1986 fantasy film alongside a live band performing the soundtrack, synchronised with David Bowie’s original vocals.
The soundtrack was composed by Bowie and Trevor Jones.
Nicole Goldman, executive vice president of branding for The Jim Henson Company, said: “It’s always incredible when the amazing fans of Jim Henson’s Labyrinth come together to watch (and rewatch!) this beloved fantasy adventure.
“With Jim Henson’s Labyrinth: In Concert, we are welcoming loyal and new fans to the world of the Goblin King, and celebrating the incredible music of David Bowie and Trevor Jones in a whole new way.
“It is certain to be a ‘Magic Dance!’”
The film stars David Bowie and Jennifer Connelly and is known for its imaginative characters and creatures from Jim Henson’s Creature Shop.
It features Bowie’s original songs including Magic Dance, Underground, and As the World Falls Down, alongside Jones’ orchestral score.
The collaboration between Bowie and Jones is widely credited with capturing the film’s whimsical and fantastical tone.
Black Ink Presents, a division of Sony Music Entertainment, has previously produced concert experiences for films such as Batman, Ghostbusters, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Rocketman, and La La Land.
Labyrinth has maintained a devoted cult following since its original release on June 27, 1986.
