Two alternative rock greats to share stage in North Yorkshire venue

Skunk Anansie and Garbage are set to perform at the TK Maxx presents Scarborough Open Air Theatre on June 20, 2026, as part of a six-date UK tour set to take in country’s most scenic outdoor venues.

The bands will alternate their running order each night, with Skunk Anansie set to bring the Scarborough show to a close.

Garbage, formed in Wisconsin in 1993 and fronted by Scottish singer Shirley Manson, rose to fame with their dark, polished blend of rock, electronica, and grunge with their 1995 debut album featured hits such as Stupid Girl and Only Happy When It Rains.

Skunk Anansie, formed in London in 1994 and fronted by Skin, are known for their powerful mix of hard rock, punk, and funk which tackles political and social issues, addressing themes of race, gender, and power with raw emotion and unapologetic energy

Their best-known tracks include Weak, Hedonism (Just Because You Feel Good), and Charity.

Julian Murray, of Scarborough OAT promoters Cuffe and Taylor, said: “What a huge night this will be. Both Skunk Anansie and Garbage are musical powerhouses so to have them team up for a double headlining show will certainly make for a memorable evening on the Yorkshire coast.

“Next year is going to be incredible in Scarborough and we can’t wait to make even more announcements very soon. It’s going to be a busy summer.”
